Description of Canvas Transfers

Our canvas transfer is an intensely detailed process by which we lift an image off of paper and thoroughly embed the resulting film into the highest quality artist’s canvas. Rigid standards and meticulous attention to detail maximize ink retention, paper removal, and bonding. Our canvas transfer renders a wonderful sheen and canvas texture.

We offer two types of canvas transfers. The types are "Basic Canvas Transfer" and "Gallery Wrap Canvas Transfer".

Basic Canvas Transfer:

The canvas has a white border around the edges of the image and staples are placed along the sides of the canvas on this white border to close the canvas material together. You can see the staples from the front and side view.

Most people who purchase a basic canvas transfer have it framed without including a glass surface covering for the canvas transfer.

Gallery Wrap Canvas Transfer:

The canvas has a white border around the edges of the image; however, the canvas transfer is placed on stretcher bars and the canvas is stretched. Thus, the white border around the edges is pulled around to the back of the canvas transfer and staples are placed on the back of the canvas transfer.

With the staples placed on the back, the staples cannot be seen from the front or sides of the canvas transfer. A gallery wrap canvas transfer is ready to hang on your wall because the stretcher bars are included not only for stretching the canvas; but to allow the canvas transfer to be hung without being framed. Most people who purchase a gallery wrap canvas transfer do so because they want to hang the canvas transfer without having to have it framed.
